This is what I do at work.

Part of my job at BYUtv, on top of writing copy for their advertising campaigns and their new website, I write voice-overs for new TV series. Here's one we just finished.

Talk about tripping over the finish line.

Let me sum this up quick.

Carlos Dunlap of the University of Florida, last years defensive MVP of the BCS national title game, was cited for a DUI early Tuesday morning. So top-ranked Florida will be without one of its best pass rushers against No. 2 Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game.

Dunlap had been considered a top-10 pick in the NFL draft... and now he is not going to play in the SEC championship game and if they win, he won't play in the BCS title game either.

Take about tripping over the finish line.

Most people wake up and pour themselves a glass of O.J. not me; I go straight for the Kool-Aid.

I have put a lot of thought into this, and I have finally come to a conclusion. These are my top three favorite Kool-Aid flavors.

#3 – Black Cherry

#2 – Tropical punch

#1 - Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade

Rejected Story Book Titles

As some of you know on top of my Advertising Major I am minoring in English, with an emphasis in creative writing. One of the classes I am taking this semester is a class on how to write Children's Books. For our first assignment we had to come up with 100 Story Book titles to help spark ideas and topics for Children's Books we will write throughout the semester. Our Professor gave us feed back on which ones he liked and which ones he didn't.

"Authentic" Italian Food

My wife and I are big Italian food fans. We have eaten at dozens of different Italian restaurant from Salt Lake City to San Diego, and something has come to our attention.

Every Italian restaurant that claims to be "authentic" usually isn't very good. The ingredients look and taste as if they were from a can. The food seems poorly prepared and the most obvious blunder of all, the food just don't taste very good. It's usually simple and bland. One of the biggest reasons I think we as Americans eat out, is to eat nice food that we can't prepare ourselves. I don't know why anyone would go to these "authentic" Italian restaurants, and pay for entrees they could easily make at home.

Did you know?

My classmate from London told me today that...

In England they call English Muffins - Muffins
And they call Muffins - American Muffins (like a blueberry muffin)

FYI.

I love these commercials, however...

Today's prescribed vanity isn't fair!

Today's prescribed vanity isn't fair, in order to be connected or noticed one must have a Facebook page, twitter account, personal website and a blog. And what do you do with these components? Talk about yourself?
Facebook asks; What's on your mind?
Twitter wants to know; What are you doing?
I say, who really cares?

Okay, hold on, I have to admit its nice to log on to Facebook and check out what my friends are up to, from time to time. However, when I sign on and see my friend Sarah has taken the "Which Disney Princess are You?" quiz 5 times until she gets the response she's looking for, I say to my self, is that really necessary?
Or when Ashton Kutcher feels that it is crucial to inform everyone on twitter that he had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch. I mean, come on now.

So why am I starting this blog?

Because all of the AD recruiters said so. Apparently having a personal writers journal is not good enough, they want you to post all of your thoughts and writings online
So I guess I will be moving my writers journal to this blog.
